Refrigeration compressors
Demand is growing for environmentally-friendly freezer units that reduce burden on the environment.
Mayekawa boasts Japan’s best-selling freezer units incorporating natural refrigerants.

Fluorocarbon-free (natural refrigerant) series
1. EKCO2 Series
NH3/CO2 brine unit

Refrigerant: NH3 Brine: CO2

CO2 brine temperature: -5℃ to -40℃

Uses: Freezing, refrigeration, low-temperature air-conditioning, showcase cooling, freezer cooling, etc.

Features:
1) Uses non-fluorocarbon NH3 as the primary refrigerant and CO2 as the brine.
2) Offers a 10% efficiency improvement over existing systems (Mayekawa data).
3) Requires no control of brine concentration or PH and the absence of corrosion reduces maintenance cost concerns.

NH3/CO2 dual unit

Refrigerant: High side: NH3; Low side: CO2

CO2 evaporation temperature: -40℃ to -55℃

Uses: Freezers, ultra-low temperature warehouses, vacuum freezing systems

Features:
1) Uses non-fluorocarbon NH3 for the high side and CO2 for the low side.
2) Offers a 30% efficiency improvement over existing systems (Mayekawa data).
3) The high efficiency of this unit is achieved through use of a proprietary CO2 high-pressure freezer unit.

2. EK Series
Water-cooled EK Series, evaporator-condenser EK Series

Refrigerant: NH3 Brine: Nybrine Z-1, Etabrine

Brine outlet temperature:

Low temperatures of -28℃ to -36℃

 High temperature: -3℃ to -14℃ (-18℃ for evaporator-condenser)

Uses: Industrial plant brine cooling systems, food chilling systems

Features:
1) Significantly less refrigerant is required (just 1/50 that of conventional systems (Mayekawa data).
2) Use of brine as the secondary refrigerant ensures safety for both humans and the products being chilled.
3) Use of Mayekawa’s unique compatible oil and electronic control expansion valve provides even higher efficiency.

3. MDC Series
MDC reciprocating and compact screw series

Refrigerant: NH3

Brine: Nybrine Z-1, Etabrine

Brine outlet temperature: 0℃ to -30℃

Uses: Industrial plant cooling systems, food chilling systems

Features:
1) Significantly less refrigerant required (just 1/50 that of conventional systems (Mayekawa data).
2) Use of brine as the secondary refrigerant ensures safety for both humans and the products being chilled.
3) High-performance plate heat exchangers are used in the evaporator and condenser, reducing installation dimensions .
4) Use of Mayekawa’s unique compatible refrigerator oil and electronic control expansion valve enables ammonia direct expansion and fully-automatic operation.

4. MNDC Series
MNDC Series brine chiller unit

Refrigerant: NH3

Uses: Beverage and dairy industry process chilling, food chilling systems

Features:
1) Refrigerant volume is reduced to just 0.2 kg per USRT.
2) High-performance plate heat exchangers are used in the evaporator and condenser, reducing installation dimensions .
3) Allows operation with cooling water at a temperatures of 1°C, facilitating low-temperature heat storage.
4) Allows brine operation. Ideal for use as a brine chiller for ice thermal storage.

Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) Series
CRW/MHS/MDF Series R404A compatible water-cooled condensing units
Refrigerant: R404A

Uses: Ice-making, ice banks, beverage and dairy industry process chilling, food chilling systems, refrigerators, freezers

Features:
1) By international agreement, production of the specified R22 fluorocarbon is to be significantly reduced from the year 2010. These systems are ideal for clients who wish to continue using fluorocarbon refrigerants for the time being.
2) A wide range of variations is available to suit all needs.

Series type Operating temperature range (℃)
High-temperature range CRW 0 to -30
MDF high-temperature -10 to -35
Low-temperature range MHS -35 to -70
MDF low-temperature -35 to -70
